In Veracruz State, Mexico, the regional team works with a number of different community partners, including the citrus production network, CIIDRI, the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies in Rural Development, and Granja Kokopelli. The text below comes from the Kokopelli producers, who have recently started selling their produce directly to the public at the local farmers’ market.

Kokopelli Farm at the Local Farmers’ Market
Our experience at the community peasant market has been a journey of resilience and connection. Since the pandemic, we decided to offer our agroecological products locally. In September 2024, we joined other farmers from the Sembrando Vida Program to strengthen our reach.
Every Tuesday, from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm, we share fresh and healthy products such as honey, turmeric, radishes, and ready-to-eat salads. A highlight of our stand is the “Solar Salad”, which includes a mix of green and purple cabbage, kale, rainbow chard, and carrots.
The market offers weekly economic support and a space for sharing values and knowledge. Seeing how our proposal positively impacts the health and habits of the community is the greatest reward. We are grateful to be part of this network of life and of agroecology!
