The FLOW Regions
The FLOW Partnership includes institutional and community partners in eight regions across five countries:
- Melbourne, Australia, focused on municipal and regional food policy
- Migori County, Kenya, focused on Indigenous crops, women, and youth
- Southern Brazil, focused on traditional crops, sustainable livelihoods and agroforestry
- Veracruz State, Mexico, focused on organic citrus supply chains
- Sri Lanka, focused on participatory governance in food system transformation
- Northwest Territories, Canada, focused on using participatory research to support work on traditional food systems and climate change
- Vancouver Island, Canada, focused on bioregional food systems
- Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, focused on community farm innovations and food strategy development
- Montreal, Québec, Canada, focused on food security and food policy

The heterogeneity of FLOW is the basis for leveraging commonalities and shared challenges enabling improved understanding about both the differences and shared characteristics. It also provides opportunities for co-design and co-learning while reinforcing systems-based understanding and outcomes. The multi-faceted nature of food means that challenges and solutions are often interconnected providing the opportunity to build holistic, cross-cutting capacity building
